Innovation Center Operations Manager, Grand Prairie, TX

The selected candidate for this position will have an engineering background and will provide project leadership in support of Technology Strategy and Innovation organization and manage the day to day operations of the Grand Prairie Innovation Center reporting to the MFC Innovation Lead.

The candidate will be the primary point of contact for Grand Prairie innovation projects, tours and identifying emerging technology. They will also be responsible for supporting, culture optimization, IDEAS, corporate seedlings and cross BA innovation projects. This individual will be responsible for execution and support of all Technology strategy and Innovation projects and activities within their portfolio, including:

Duties/Core activities:

o Maintain schedule and budget for Innovation Center (IC) activities
o Organize regular staff meetings for the IC
o Manage Innovation Center isolated networks (working with IT and data security)
o Support day to day needs for IC labs (equipment procurement, facilities requests)
o Order new technology for lab and employees (potentially p-card duties)
o Research emerging technologies that will benefit MFC and the IC
o Documentation of IC activities (events, tours, projects, etc.)
o Provide weekly status reports
o Support IDEAS program (IDEAS reviews, SME connections, etc.)
o Work with Innovation Lead to create and run design challenges
o Support LM CETO Innovation Initiatives
• Communications:
o Organize and execute a MFC outreach strategy
o Organize special events and tours (internal and external)
o Work with the communications department to provide a regular flow of announcements and stories for the IC (InsideLM, email communications, facility screens for advertisement)
o Provide content for the Innovation Portal Webpage
• Manage closed area
o Audits and inspections
o Support classified file transfers
o Support classified VTC activities
• Genesis Lab duties
o Quarterly lab audits
o Equipment calibration
o Maintain cleanliness and appearance of the lab
o Learn setup, operation and maintenance of lab technology (AR/VR tech, 3D printers, etc.)
o Lead training initiatives
o Address walk-in lab requests, Technology demonstrations, Quick tours


Basic Qualifications
• Security clearance: Ability to Obtain Secret level security clearance
• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to be comfortable with starting tasks will little information and getting up to speed quickly
• Must be comfortable with public speaking
• Must be organized (will be handling numerous tasks in parallel)

Desired skills
Familiarity with cutting edge systems such as additive manufacturing, 3D printing, low cost micro-controllers, etc.
General experience and expertise in an engineering discipline outside of the lab area.
