Industrial Engineering Internship - Ocala, FL

Description:Ocala Operations is a multi-shift manufacturing facility that build circuit cards, wiring harnesses, and electro-mechanical assemblies. The facility currently has over 1200 employees and provides products to six Missiles and Fire Control sites. Ocala specializes in both low volume high mix and high volume production that has a combination of automated processes as well as labor intensive manufacturing. Ocala Operations has a represented manufacturing workforce that is supported by a strong engineering and operations support team.

Provide technical guidance and support to manufacturing operators to facilitate assembly performance. Apply lean manufacturing techniques to reduce cost and increase yields. Must have good communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment. Investigate root cause of failures/defects and implement corrective action to support continuous improvement. Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma principles, Work Measurements and Time Standards, Productivity and Performance management, Capacity Analysis, Simulation Modeling, Cost Analysis and Estimating.

This position will be located at a facility that requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen.
Basic Qualifications:
Currently enrolled at an accredited college pursuing a Bachelors OR Masters Degree in Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
Desired Skills:
Minimum 3.0 GPA

Experienced with Microsoft Office (POWERPOINT, ACCESS, WORD, EXCEL).

Understanding of classical Industrial Engineering skills and techniques.

Demonstrated knowledge of industrial engineering processes.

Cost reduction experience

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts & techniques, Pro-E or equivalent CAD s/w, tool design, electronic packaging design, and MRS concepts.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
