Guidance, Navigation & Control Staff Engineer (Grand Prairie, TX)

Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced Modeling and Simulation Engineer for a position in Grand Prairie, TX working on missile defense systems. This position is an individual contributor role that has representative areas of responsibility including creating, modifying and integrating digital models in a high fidelity simulation, analyzing simulation data to evaluate system characteristics and performance, and supporting continual enhancements to the simulation architecture.

Basic Qualifications:
• Must have the ability to obtain a secret clearance.

• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.

Experience with the following:

• Programming in C++.

• Performance simulations of aircraft, radars or missile systems.

• Simulation & modeling.

• Developing and scheduling missile autopilots and developing and modeling GNC solutions.
Desired Skills:
Experience with the following:

• C++, Ada, FORTRAN, and MATLAB.

• Object oriented programming.

• Integration of simulation components in a HWIL environment.

• Familiarity with algorithms for guidance, autopilots, and navigation for missiles.

• Understand missile dynamics, aerodynamics, and other aspects of forward and tail controlled autopilots.

• A strong understanding of missiles and fire control systems will be required.
