Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking a Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) Engineer to be a member of our GNC team in Orlando, Florida performing simulation and modeling of missile 6DOF Integrated Flight Simulation (IFS).

To be considered for this role you must currently hold an active Secret clearance with a background investigation within the last 5 years.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

- Maturation of GNC algorithms
- Implementation of Guidance, Navigation, and Autopilot on-board algorithms in the IFS
- Modeling of physical "truth" models and implementation in IFS and maintain IFS
- Contribute to IFS architecture development
- Perform system performance assessments and trade studies using IFS.

The Locale: Orlando is a great place to live and to raise a family. Central Florida offers lots of attractive residential housing options. The Greater Orlando metropolitan area is the sixth largest metro area in the southeastern United States. The climate here is warm and sunny all year long for the most part. Orlando is home to Walt Disney World, Universal Studios Florida, and SeaWorld. Orlando is also home to the second largest University in the US, the University of Central Florida (UCF). Where can you get to from Orlando? Orlando is about an hour's drive from Cocoa Beach and the "space coast" to include NASA and the Kennedy Space Center. Tampa is about 1.5 hours from Orlando. West Palm Beach is about 2.5 hours to the south and Jacksonville is about 2 hours to the northeast. Atlanta, GA is 6 hours to the northwest.
Basic Qualifications:
Prior experience with modeling, GNC, navigation and/or flight controls is required.

Develop and analyze guidance, navigation and autopilot algorithms.

Design target tracking systems which generally include target state estimation and target/detection association.

Perform design and analyses of terrestrial navigation and navigation state error estimation.

Contribute to the definition of an operational flight program (OFP) with integrated high fidelity 6DOF simulations.

Support preflight system performance assessment and post flight verification analyses.

Demonstrate strong math skills in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformation.

Must currently hold an active Secret clearance with a background investigation within the last 5 years.
Desired Skills:
Experience programming MATLAB and a command of C++.

Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) simulation experience.

Flight software integration and verification experience.

Experience with Embedded Software, RF/EO knowledge, and experience programming in FORTRAN.
