At Lockheed Martin, you'll have an opportunity to create a better world every day. For most individuals, our work challenges belong merely to headlines and tweets. But our employees routinely experience a broad range of programs and projects, each geared to important human needs. Whatever your assignment, you'll use your education and experience to take on formidable challenges. Meanwhile, you can rely on the resources of a global technology leader to back the kind of innovation that has characterized our historic breakthroughs.
Lockheed Martin (LM) is seeking a Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) Engineer with experience in modeling advanced long-range missiles systems with radio communication capability. Your responsibilities will include creating / modifying / integrating models, and tuning autopilot and GNC parameters for performance optimization. You will support the conversion of the operational flight program (OFP) into an integrated high-fidelity 6-DOF digital flight simulation. The high fidelity 6-DOF simulation will be employed to support hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) analysis, pre-flight system performance assessment, and post-flight reconstruction. You will also lead the maintenance and configuration management activities associated with the simulation.
A Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) engineer assures that a platform is capable of finding its way to an intended destination and delivering its payload optimally. This is accomplished, in part, by performing Missile 6DOF simulation analysis and Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) simulation analysis. Inclusive in this process is the development and analysis of guidance, navigation and autopilot algorithms. In addition, development of simulation models and performing hardware integration is required. Performance verification and troubleshooting is also required. Target tracking is an integral part of guidance and fire control. The engineer will be responsible for designing target tracking systems which generally include target state estimation and target/detection association and assignment which is particularly challenging in surveillance systems.
You will have the opportunity to travel at times.
