Circuit Design Engineer Senior / ROIC / Grand Prairie, TX

Lockheed Martin is seeking an integrated circuit design engineer to help advance the state-of-the art in infrared and visible imager read-out integrated circuits (ROICs). Education, training, or experience with CMOS transistor level integrated circuit design, simulation, and physical layout is required. The selected candidate will perform analog and digital sub-micron transistor level design in support of advanced infrared sensors and imagers. Responsibilities include CMOS design and analysis of low noise analog circuit blocks, low power analog to digital conversion, high speed RF, analog, and digital signal transmission, and concept generation of high frame rate mega-pixel infrared imaging arrays.

The Locale: Grand Prairie is part of the "Mid-Cities" region in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex which is in the North Central region of Texas. Grand Prairie is a suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth. The region offers a great cost of living combined with a robust economy and a pleasant climate. The Mid-Cities is the suburban region filling the thirty-mile span between Dallas and Fort Worth. These communities include the cities of Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, HEB (Hurst, Euless and Bedford), NRH (North Richland Hills and Richland Hills), Haltom City, Watauga, and Keller, along with multiple other smaller towns such as Trophy Club and Roanoke and together represent more people than either Dallas or Fort Worth.

Basic Qualifications
CMOS Transistor and circuit level design/analysis
- MOSFET operation concept, FET threshold, transconductance, body effect
- CMOS digital gates, shift registers and logic design
- Simple amplifier structures: OTA, Op amp
- Current Sources and mirrors
- Basic feedback loop dynamics of amplifiers, stability compensation

Simulation Experience
- Spectre or Pspice
- Monte carlo analysis
- Digital and mixed mode analysis
- Analog circuit analysis

Schematic capture
- Hierarchical schematic entry and understanding
Layout Design
- CMOS transistor layouts and structures
- Hierarchical layout development
- Typical CMOS layout practices : basic gate topologies, orthogonal routing constraints, etc
- Parasitic extraction of layouts

Design Tools
- Some experience in Cadence IC design suite or equivalent
- DRC and LVS tools (Calibre is preferred)

Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Some travel required.

Desired skills
Cryogenic CMOS circuit design experience
Digital ASIC design with Verilog flow
High Speed mixed mode design of transmitter/receivers (transistor level)
PLL and DLL design/understanding
- 3rd Order type II PLL feedback loop dynamics and design
ADC design experience
- Single slope ADC experience is preferred
- SAR or delta-sigma
