Category Management Manager

SEMAC is looking for an experienced leader to manage a team of individuals purchasing complex mechanical/ electrical hardware for across multiple programs for the Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) Business Area. The individual will help to lead a team of buying professionals in all aspects of the purchasing process for commodities such as general/precision/ultra-precision machining, PWBs and other electronic and electromechanical assemblies. This role will involve close coordination with various strategic suppliers and programs. Position will require the ability to promote a positive team environment, involvement and participation. Selected Candidate will be required to assist the Team in closing negotiations as required, working root cause and corrective action plans, coordinating proposal bid submittals for programs and other various special assignments as required by upper management. Position will be responsible for coordinating employee recruitment, selection, training, performance, assessment, work assignments, salary and recognition performance, disciplinary action, and career development. The individual will provide critical assessment of internal operation performance and assessment and workflow analysis as well as provide work direction to employees regarding daily work.

Basic Qualifications
Previous experience leading teams
Strong program/project management skills Strong interpersonal skills Demonstrated learning agility
Extensive experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR).
Previous experience working and negotiating TINA (Truth in Negotiations Act) Compliant proposals
Extensive experience with subcontract cost, quality, schedule and technical program performance. Extensive experience negotiating terms and conditions Strong organizational skills to handle many overlapping projects simultaneously.
Ability to successfully interface and interact with all levels of the organization
Experience with SAP and P@B systems

Desired skills
Master's degree preferred
Experience with Identification of Risks and Risk Management Major subcontract or extensive experience managing commodities
Experience with identifying and building organizational talent
Experience utilizing MRP systems
Experience leading large cross functional initiatives
Experience executing lean processes and initiatives
Strong presentation skills and ability to address complex matters/solutions with Senior Leadership and customers
Experience with import, export and international trade regulations
