Aircraft Electronic Technician

The Electronics Technician, Maintenance maintains repairs, troubleshoots, modifies and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radar, radio, television, telecommunication, sonar, and navigational aids); personal and main frame computers and terminals, industrial, medical, measuring, and controlling equipment; and industrial robotic devices. The successful incumbent applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.

The Electronics Technician Maintenance II applies basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence, in selecting tools, testing instruments, and is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices. This technician works under immediate supervision and achieves technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician.

Required experience includes a minimum of 6 year inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing aircraft avionics and electrical systems (GAC, Com/Nav, EW, Sensors. Elect Env,Aircraft electrician). The candidate must have experience
installing aircraft modifications to include fabricating and installing aircraft electrical system wiring, connectors, electrical components, avionics boxes and chassis' using common and specialized hand tools, power tools, and applicable test equipment. Requires the ability to understand and interpret
technical manuals, schematics, and drawings.

Successful candidates should also possess experience fabricating, installing, routing, terminating, soldering, and repairing electrical wiring harnesses; or any variety of electrical components, and equipment associated with aircraft systems functionality. Additional task are required, and include but not
limited to: HAXMAT/HAZWASTE handling, corrosion control,
inspection/repair, maintenance inspection, aircraft launch and
recovery, aircraft servicing, towing, and jack/shoring aircraft.

CONUS and OCONUS travel is required.

The period of performance for this role ends at the end of June 2018.

Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 6 years of Com/Nav, aircraft avionics and
electrical system experience. Modification experience. This
position is for an aircraft modification team, travel is required.
The selected candidate is required to have an active passport
upon hire.

Desired skills
Familiar with Com/Nav, EW, Sensors. Elect Env systems, C-130
Modification experience
Familiar with the Isochronal inspection process.
