This requisition is for an Associate Level Test Engineer. This is an entry-level position that requires the candidate to work in a collaborative environment to test and evaluate digital and analog hardware. The applicant will engineer solutions to issues that develop in a manufacturing setting. The individual will be responsible for following test, operating, and process procedures to ensure the highest quality products. The candidate will utilize Special Test Equipment (STE) to perform a functional validation of the hardware under test. Other test equipment such as digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, boundary scan, and various JTAG-enabled tools may be utilized to evaluate and troubleshoot hardware.
The candidate should possess an educational background and some level of work experience applicable to test engineering tasks. The applicant must have a strong ability to work as a member of a small highly skilled team in a dynamic environment. The position requires an individual with the capacity to work on technical problems and provide innovative solutions. The preferred candidate must work under general supervision, have the ability to multi-task and adapt to change, and possess strong organizational and communication skills. The candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to take ownership of assigned tasks. The applicant must be able to work with a diverse team of highly skilled engineers, technicians, and subcontractors. The individual must have good oral and written communication skills and work well in a team environment.
The candidate must also accept the work schedule which on occasion may include off-shift (afternoon, nights, and weekends) scheduling to meet business needs. This position requires the ability to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.
Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
The candidate should possess a working knowledge of Windows-based PCs with familiarity of the following software packages: Microsoft Office Suite, and LabView. The applicant should be familiar with standard troubleshooting techniques and be able to use digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and other basic test equipment with competence. A working knowledge of fiber optic handling is a plus.
