The Orion Production program is seeking a strong technical leader to ensure the technical support team is seamlessly integrated to support the Orion spacecraft production. The technical support team consists of the following functions: CPEs, design engineers, systems engineers, Materials and Process Engineers, configuration & data management, and project engineers.

The Systems Engineering Senior Manager is responsible for activities which lead to the final certification and flight readiness of the Orion Spacecraft. Specific subsystem responsibilities include the support of procurement, test, assembly, qualification and verification of the Orion Spacecraft from mission to mission.

This senior leader will ensure on time or early Engineering analysis, requirements development, design/Engineering release, and on floor technical assistance as needed for troubleshooting and/or installation and test guidance. This role will also ensure smooth integration between mission unique mods and any supplier modifications for efficiency which also supports this role as the leader for configuration management and control as they will lead the DD250 effort as production hands the Orion Production units over to NASA for missionization. This position will support the executive CPE as necessary to ensure technical issues are resolved quickly. This position will supply engineering staff and support the Orion supply chain SMT structure.

Specific Orion program responsibilities include technical, schedule, and cost performance for the Production Engineering SEIT Team. Leadership responsibilities include coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection, training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition.

The job duties include certification of the Orion spacecraft, interfacing with the NASA customer as required, coordinating with international partners when required, conducting daily operations, strategic planning, and identifying and resolving issues.

Typically has 20 - 30+ years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or in a related science field
- Human spaceflight system development experience
- Complex spacecraft development experience
- Demonstrated ability to excel in integrated customer/contractor team
- Experience with the full product life cycle development through deployment
- Experience with Design Change Management
Desired Skills:
- 5+ years chief engineering/CPE experience
- IPT (Integrated Product Team) or cross-functional leadership experience
- Technical Qualification program management experience
- Technology insertion and innovation management skills
- Supply Chain experience dealing with hardware and software troubleshooting
