Systems Engineer Sr Stf

Description: Provide technical engineering leadership across multiple sites for the Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) protected military communication satellite program as the Ground Development Segment Systems Engineering, Integration & Test (GS SEIT) lead. This position also takes on the responsibilities as the Deputy AEHF Development Chief Engineer by performing the duties of the AEHF Development Chief Engineer when they are not available. Functionally, this position reports to the Engineering Senior Manager on the program. Programmatically, this position takes direction from the Ground Program Manager, Business Owner and development Chief Engineer.

The primary responsibility is to provide oversight for design, development and test of the products satisfying cost, schedule and specifications allocated to the Program. Provide engineering support and technical direction for the execution of the program's test program, test processes including Baseline Definition, Architecture Design, Verification and delivery under the technical guidance of the Development Chief Engineer and Development Chief Architect. Develop, maintain and track system engineering metrics consistent with the Quality Management Plan (QMP).

Candidates should have a history of successful program execution producing outstanding results for their team. Candidates will be responsible for definition and execution of formal testing and regression testing across deliverable releases to the AEHF baseline - driving program performance including cost and schedule for test activities across multiple sites; Colorado Springs, CO, Gaithersburg, MD and Valley Forge, PA. Coordination with the test manager of the test products, schedules and resources. Responsible for the integration with development teams in terms of understanding implications of changes to both the technical and schedule updates and their impact to test. Responsible for integration with operations from a test perspective, ensuring delivered products meet operational needs. Responsible for formal CDRLs documenting the Segment Level Test Plan, the Segment Level test report and the final Version Description Document for the released baseline.
Desired Skills: -Military Communications Satellite background preferred.
-Demonstrated understanding of DevOps.
-Working experience with Agile, automated test, continuous integration and regression testing.
-Working knowledge of Clear Case / Clear Quest.
-Multi-discipline program experience to include software, engineering, environment and programmatic.
-Understanding of earned value management.
-Proven success delivering new business and defining and implementing capture strategies.
-Previous experience supporting ECPs/proposals for communications / ground components or subsystems.
-Demonstrated Leader.
-Strong technical leadership experience.
-Previous experience delivering highly reliable Communications / Ground subsystems.
-Proven ability to establish, foster and grow strong technical relationships with customers and employees at all levels.
-Proven and demonstrated leadership experience and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Demonstrated ability as team player to build consensus among peers and build effective relationships with customers/team members.
-Demonstrated ability to effectively manage change, identify issues, work with stakeholders to develop solutions.
