This position is for Electronic Protection (EP) Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Q-53 radar system programs. The EP SME for the Q-53 radar system programs will provide subject expertise which includes deep knowledge of EP techniques required. The EP SME will align EP techniques with the requirements for new development activities including the Distributed Digital Receiver Exciter (DDREX) Upgrade, Modernization and Development Engineering (MDE), and other Q-53 Programs. Responsibilities include: EP subject matter expertise, cost, schedule, & technical content for EP related systems engineering activities; leadership influence over EP related systems engineering activities across multiple contracts, baselines & related subsystems including: newly identified business opportunity pursuits, baseline management and development of current and future contracts that are expected to comprise the product line; support for proposal & costing efforts, regular interaction with and influence over the technical team with regard to EP techniques, regular interaction and presentations to the U.S. Army customer, regular interaction with major subcontractors and government labs/firing ranges.
Performs and leads technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Basic Qualifications:
This is a senior staff technical position requiring very deep knowledge of and significant experience with Electronic Protection and/or Electronic Attack; the candidate for this position is an EP SME. This position requires:
•SME level knowledge of and experience with radar Electronic Protection techniques to counter modern Electronic Attack threats
•Understanding of various radar EA/EP techniques
•Ability to conduct threat analysis determining radar performance under EA including cancellation ratio
•Understanding EA impacts on radar analog hardware
•Very deep knowledge of and experience with AESA radar or Electronic Warfare system design, development, and integration
•Ability to provide cost, schedule, & technical leadership influence of systems engineering teams
•Experience with system design and trade studies, RF chain analysis, and radar system performance analysis
•Experience with radar or EW signal processing techniques, radar or EW system Integration and Test, and performance analysis tools (MATLAB) is required
Desired Skills:
•Strong team and project leadership skills coupled with strong technical skills demonstrated by previous work applying EP techniques and doing radar system analysis of radar designs and or data from test events
•Experience with Receiver/Exciter design
•Model Based System Design and Agile development experience
•Experience with Automated Testing is desired.
