Systems Engineer, Senior Staff

Description: This position is with the historic Lockheed Martin Skunk Works, located in Palmdale, CA. At the Skunk Works, we have a legacy of creating ground breaking and revolutionary aircraft that continues today.
This position is for an experienced Systems Engineer who demonstrates a working knowledge of Hybrid Airship Air System, Air Vehicle, and Subsystem requirements development and management. Experience with tracking and managing verification artifacts showing compliance to technical requirements. Understanding of Hybrid Airship concept of operation, functional requirements, and familiarity with FAA Hybrid Certification Criteria type certification requirements. Experience working with FAA Designated Engineering Representatives in support of vehicle Type Certification. Experience developing artifacts required for vehicle type certification.
This position requires solid understanding of the LM Aero Risk Management process for development programs. This position will provide risk management leadership and oversight to the program.

The position requires System Engineering knowledge of the Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management tool including development and maintenance of the product structure and interactions of Teamcenter in development of the engineering Bill of Material.

The candidate must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, time-management, and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate must demonstrate effective communication skills as the position will require frequent program management and cross-disciplinary interactions.

Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Desired Skills: Understanding of Hybrid Airship capabilities and interactions between subsystems.
Familiarity and use of the ARM risk management tool.
Significant experience and expertise in System Engineering requirements definition, decomposition, flow down and traceability of requirements, and experience in verification assessment, tracking and auditing.
Understanding of FAA Type 23, 25, and/or 29 Type certification criteria.
Understanding of Configuration Management of an air vehicle during development phase.
Understanding/experience with AS9100 audits.
Understanding of environmental, electromagnetic, and ground support requirements
Familiarity with DOORS
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical discipline.
Experience with the Systems Engineering requirements process.
Experience with Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management tool
