Systems Engineer, MET-I Requirements
Description: MET-I Description: The Missile Defense Agency Engineering Team - Industry (MET-I), also called the National Team, provides systems engineering solutions to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) for the development and evolution of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS). The BMDS is an integrated, layered architecture that provides multiple opportunities to destroy missiles and their warheads before they can reach their targets. MET-I system engineers perform system-level assessments of the existing BMDS architecture and study the impacts of new technologies and concepts being considered for future BMDS architectures. The National Team engineers work closely with the MDA, FFRDCs, and various contractors and suppliers to shape the future of missile defense.
Requirements Position: The successful candidate will support development of functional, performance, and interface concepts and requirements for system-of-system capabilities in a model based systems engineering environment. The individual will participate in the development of system/component trade studies and analysis using established methodologies. The individual will develop the UML based design packages supporting analysis, definition, and architecture that are needed to document, allocate and trace BMD System and Element level requirements. The individual may lead the planning and progress reporting of tasks and coordination with functional and technical working group leads, senior management and government counterparts. The individual will have strong coordination, organization, teaming and communication abilities along with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders from MDA, FFRDCs, subcontractors, and partner company reachback. The individual is responsible for documenting results of requirements analysis in DOORS, System Architect, reports, and presentations. The individual will create and present briefings within the team and to Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and supporting organization stakeholders.
Desired Skills: Due to the diversity of projects executed on the MET-I contract, a wide variety of skill sets are being sought. If you have any experience in the following areas, please indicate this on your resume:
--BMDS element domain knowledge (e.g., THAAD, Aegis BMD, Patriot, GMD, C2BMC, SBX)
--Experience leading teams in performing systems engineering and/or functional specification and interface specification development.
--User level experience with DOORS or similar requirements engineering tool, and UML modeling tools such as System Architect, Magic Draw, Rhapsody
--Performance analysis or modeling using MATLAB or similar tools
--Technical understanding of ballistic threats and defensive systems
--Technical understanding of air-defense threats and systems
--Technical understanding of electronic attack / electronic protection
--Must demonstrate knowledge/expertise in developing/writing and analyzing system-of-system level requirements.
--Able to develop solutions to a wide range of complex system-of-systems technical problems that require ingenuity, innovation and collaboration with multiple stakeholders
--Individual must have expertise in one of the following areas: EO/IR sensors, RF/Radar sensors, missiles/interceptors, threats, discrimination, detection/tracking, Command and Control, Electronic Warfare, Cyber Security
--Active SECRET Clearance
