Supply Chain Industrial Engineering Intern

Description:This position will be supporting the 120,000 square foot Missile Parts Warehouse (MPW) at the Strategic Weapons Facility Atlantic in Kings Bay, Georgia for the Fleet Ballistic Missile Program. Specific operations include Property/Material Control, Procurement, Material Planning, Receiving, Stores, Packaging, and the Consolidated Hazardous Material Reutilization and Inventory Management Program (CHRIMP) teams in MPW, Flammable Storage Building (FSB) and four Small Ordnance Magazines (SOMs).

The successful candidate will assist management with capacity planning, workload distribution metrics and lead six sigma activities. Candidate will additionally support the finalization of a long range plan that encompasses all of the FBM program requirements supported by MPW.

Candidate will support management and a workforce consisting of represented and salaried employees.
Candidate must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with Lockheed Martin and Government internal and external customers, employees and business colleagues and collaborate with peers to attain organizational goals. Successful candidate must possess a strong and thorough accountability for procedural compliance, interpret and implement company policies and procedures as well as state, federal and government regulations. Successful candidate will have strong verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to obtain Secret Clearance required for this role. Interim Secret clearance required at start.
Basic Qualifications:
Actively enrolled in Industrial Engineering or other related degree program from accredited college/university. This position requires special access to support the program and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen.
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with logisitics/supply chain or warehouse/inventory management disciplines. Lean Six Sigma training. Ability to create solutions to issues that impede product flow. Exposure to computer operating systems such as SAP. Strong communication and presentation skills. Teamwork, capability to work in a multi-functional environment. Fluency in MS Office applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Project and Power Point).
