Supplier Quality Field Engineer (SQFE)
Description: Lockheed Martin is seeking a Supplier Quality Field Engineer (SQFE) for a position supporting the Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) at Orbital ATK located in Rocket Center, WV.
The position will be badged to the Missile and Fire Control location in Dallas, Texas; however, the actual work location will be in Rocket Center, WV working the same work hours as the Orbital ATK facility works. Assignment will be an on-site resident representative performing supplier surveillance, first article inspections, production line validations, test equipment validations, and source inspection activities. Duties include:
Performance of scheduled product source inspections, first articles, and product line validations as outlined by AS9102 and applicable company and industry standards
Provide internal and supplier support for root cause and corrective/preventive actions tied to Supplier
Corrective Action Requests
Support Supplier requests tied to program requirements, interface with customer needs and program management activities
Support (as required) supplier's failure/diagnosis and Material Review Board (MRB) activities
Perform Quality Management System and Special Process surveys
Perform on-going surveillance of supplier's conformance to Lockheed Martin requirement documents and provide written weekly reports
Provide technical liaison support related to design and quality engineering matters. Must be able to effectively communicate and interface with Quality Program Management, Engineering, Supplier Management, Supplier Quality Management, Subcontract (buyers), and Government Representatives.
Ensure supplier contract flow-down requirements are implemented and verified and interfaces with supplier on a daily basis
The position will require working flexible hours, possible weekends.
Desired Skills: A basic understanding of the Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) SAP business systems software and P2P will be necessary to support the position
Experience performing Quality Management System and Special Process surveys
ASQ Certifications (CQE, CQA or CQIA)
Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt)
Demonstrated leadership, customer relationship management skills
Due to the technical nature of the task requirements, a technical degree is a plus
Must have ability to obtain a security clearance
Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Strong understanding of engineering requirements
Strong understanding in AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
Must be able to identify and document supplier's quality deficiencies and ensure effective corrective action. Provide technical liaison support related to design and quality engineering matters
The candidate must be capable of performing root cause analysis and identifying solutions to complex problems, be able to focus on continual improvement practices, using tools like SPC and Causal Analysis to drive Corrective and Preventive Action
Understanding engineering drawings requirements mechanical and electrical inspection methods
Experience with performing First Article Inspections to AS9102 requirements
Strong understanding of special processes and an Overall understanding of how to manage and interface with suppliers on a daily basis to support the Program
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment
Must be able to multi-task, meet deadlines and to support all program supplier quality engineering activities
Strong communication skills (both oral and written) will be necessary to support the assignment and weekly reports
Must be able to effectively communicate and interface with Suppliers, Quality Program Management,
Engineering, Supplier Quality Management, Sub-contracts (Buyers) and Government
Able to utilize Microsoft programs in support of the daily assignments to help communicate with the supplier and Missiles & Fire Control (MFC) Dallas management
Knowledge and understanding of critical design attributes, source acceptance and auditing/surveying is required
Additionally, candidates may be required to work in a manufacturing environment that would require standing and the use the appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (protective footwear, eye / hearing protection, or other protective equipment designed to protect people from work place hazards)
