Description: Be a part of the team developing the hypersonic technology that could forever change our ability to deter and respond to conflict. Support Hypersonic Conventional Strike Weapon (HCSW) as Mechanical Engineer, Sr. Staff. The candidate will be required to help lead the design of the HCSW working within Lockheed Martin and its Teammates with engineering design, qualification, assembly, integration and test of these components and systems. The position will support design of the system and its subsytems and compoonents. Candidate shall have the ability to coordinate/approve teammates/sub-contract design packages. Candidate may be required to support launch operations including functional testing of hardware and systems, troubleshooting these systems and making quick independent technical decisions. The candidate will be required to present at Engineering Review Boards, Configuration Control Boards, and Failure Review Boardsm as required. The candidate will be expected to handle aspects of product acceptance reviews and certifications as CPE of assigned hardware. Some travel to support assembly, integration and testing of hardware and systems will be required. Candidate will be required to present/coordinate with the USAF customers.
Desired Skills: Knowledge of CIPS related to system analyses. Hardware experience, including design, analysis, assembly, Integration and Test. Experience using EPDM Windchill, SAP and design tools. Knowledgeable at a systems level in the areas of subcontracts, electrical design/analysis, software, transportation, and launch operations.
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 14 years or more of professional experience; or 12 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
Considered an expert, authority in discipline.
Developed skills in Mechanical Design or Analysis.
Team oriented, with team leadership, good time management, and communication skills.
Experience in any of the following disciplines: aerodynamics, trajectories, loads/dynamics, thermal, stress, or mass properties, with familiarity and experience using the associated analysis tools.
Proficiency with Microsoft office tools.
