Software Integration Engineer

Description: The Labs & Technical Services (L&TS) F-35 Tactical Simulations software team is in search of a highly innovative, self-motivated software engineer who enjoys real-time simulation, solving hard problems, and working on a team to continually build a better product!

This position is for a Software Integration Engineer on the F-35 Ownship tactical simulation team. The team builds a high-fidelity, man-in-the-loop simulator of the F-35 which combines Operational Flight Program (OFP) software, third-party vendor models, and internally developed software.

The F-35 Ownship & Environments team is part of the Labs & Technical Services (L&TS) organization. L&TS is a highly innovative organization, responsible for developing and maintaining manned aircraft weapon simulation systems utilized for weapons systems development from concept design through production and delivery. Within L&TS resides an extensive selection of simulators and software/systems integration test capabilities, including low-cost rapid prototyping concept development systems, full-dome handling qualities simulations, high-fidelity multi-ship, real-time, man-in-the-loop simulation systems, and hardware-in-the-loop mission systems and vehicle systems integration venues. Our products are used to advance weapon systems development, strengthen pilot familiarization, assess human factors, evaluate aircraft control laws, improve mission study effectiveness, provide test capabilities required for contract verification and provide integration testing and verification capabilities for aircraft systems and software.

This position may require unique program security clearances that will be initiated upon selection and acceptance in filling this position. Final approval of these security clearances is dependent upon the Department of Defense (DoD) and could take an extensive amount of time to be granted. During this waiting period, the work assignments directly related to this position will be limited. Therefore, auxiliary organization work assignments will be provided.

Must be a US Citizen. This position will require a Secret security clearance updated within the last 5 years to start.
Desired Skills: • Experience with Aircraft Avionics Sensors - Electronic Warefare (EW), Electronic Support Measures (ESM), RADAR, Distributed Aperature System (DAS), Electro-Optical Targeting System (EOTS)
• Experience in one or more areas related to simulation software, e.g. real-time executives, modeling and simulation, visual systems, data management, analysis systems, etc.
• Strong data analytics experience
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies and tools, such as VersionOne
• Experience with Linux operating systems
• Experience with Eclipse
• Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) and tooling, such as Jenkins
• Experience with automated testing
• Experience working with software in a highly integration-intensive environment
• Experience with C++ programming language
• Experience with Object-Oriented Analysis (OOA) / Object-Oriented Design (OOD) techniques
• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering/Technical Field
