Software Engineer Sr-military and industry IA standards

Description: The Cybersecurity Software/Hardware Engineer reports directly to the JMATS Engineering Manager. The Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for software/hardware engineering of USG directed changes related to Cybersecurity on all JMATS training devices. Analyze, design, develop, evaluate and implement changes. Responsible for ensuring Cybersecurity requirements are common across the entire JMATS baselines. Attend Cybersecurity specific meetings and act as the POC for engineering. Engineering liaison at all Cybersecurity related meetings. Assist in development of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) package, maintaining it in a current state as items change and providing engineering level expertise when needed. Assist the Cybersecurity department in evaluating RMF requirement changes. Develop and then implement security protocols to include password change procedures on JMATS device. Evaluate each patch/change to be applied to JMATS devices. Develop installation procedures and report possible issues to the IA working group. Integration and test of all software patches/changes directed by the DAA for each type device. Installation of all DAA directed changes to each JMATS training device to include remote sites.
Assistance during routine security scans to minimize lost training time. Provide engineering level research when requested to the DAA on JMATS devices. Assist in pre/post mod RMF inspections to ensure all requirements are complied with and if not, assist in development of a plan with the mod team to ensure compliance. Travel to each remote site for patch install and scans. Develop/collect/distribute required audit/user logs to the Cybersecurity group. International travel may be required.
Desired Skills: Working knowledge of IA Management software desired.
Familiarity with C-130J simulator systems preferred.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, required and Visio desired.
Knowledge of MasterControl, databases and computer operations desired.
Ability to develop documentation, instructions, and presentations required.
Ability to develop software scripts for Windows/Unix environments.
Languages could consist of Unix Shell Script, Linux, MS Visual Basic, MS Visual C++ and others.
The candidate must have demonstrated outstanding interpersonal skills, an ability to plan and forecast tasks to meet multiple deadlines, strong oral and written communication abilities, solid ability to organize and a high desire to provide customer satisfaction.
Should be familiar with military and industry Cybersecurity standards.
Requires understanding of technical principles, theories and concepts, including the interrelated disciplines of Cybersecurity Management.
Requires the ability to interpret complex specifications, remember instructions and processes, logically analyze, reason, make decisions, perform mathematical calculations, read, write, and communicate clearly and concisely.
Must be capable of attaining a SECRET clearance.
