Software Engineer Sr

Description: Participate in the development of embedded software products for the Owego Avionics Products business area. Candidate will be responsible for the design, code and integration test of Board Support Package (BSP), Built In Test (BIT) and Test Equipment Software for Digital and RF/analog advanced state-of-art avionics processors. Software products are hardware centric and include device drivers, boot loaders and middleware. Work in hardware, systems engineering and product test labs to analyze, debug and integrate processor hardware, software and firmware. Primary SW languages are C/C++, Python and National Instrument LabView/LabWindows and Teststand. Strong analytical and trouble shooting skills are required. Candidates are required to work in labs on-site and have ability to obtain DoD clearance.
Desired Skills: Strong analytical/debug and SW/HW and Firmware (FW) integration and test skills. Familiarity with Hardware logic design and test. Experience with test instrumentation and MILSTD HW protocols (e.g. 1553, ARINC) and other interfaces (e.g. VME, Fibre, Ethernet, PCI, JTAG/1149.1). Real Time Embedded SW Engineering skills.

SW Development experience following SW Engineering principles and practices

Participation in formal software testing, verification, and/or validation processes.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
Proficient in object-oriented software development using C++/C# .
Proficient in C software development.
Experience developing and integrating embedded SW.
Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to obtain a security clearance to at least the Secret level.
