Software Engineer - OS/Network Applications Security

Description: The Advanced Concepts Laboratory (ACL) focuses on research in revolutionary information technology concepts including classified research and development. ACL is ATL's center of excellence for independent and contract research and development for the classified and intelligence communities. ACL engineers and scientists are integral to defining, researching, and developing basic and applied solutions with a strong emphasis on demonstrable prototypes which lead to the early deployment of new technology. ACL is seeking passionate and talented engineers and scientists who are interested in researching and prototyping innovative ideas in one or more of the following areas:
* OS/Network/Application security and evaluation improvements
* OS/Network/Application secure design principles and development techniques
* OS/Network/Application vulnerability assessments
* Information operations - Tactics and Technologies
* Reverse engineering techniques and tools
Candidates should be self motivated and strong in the execution of research and prototype development, capable of technical contributions on proposals to external government research and development funding organizations and presentation of research results and prototypes to internal entities.

Candidates will support R&D efforts on currently executing programs and internal research projects. Qualified candidates may work on exciting technologies including:
* Application of information retrieval techniques to malware classification
* Development on automated software testing frameworks for large scale security-critical software testing
* Low-level firmware/software development pushing the bounds of the originally specified intent of the hardware/software
* Empirical evaluation of a broad spectrum of networking technologies under adverse conditions
Desired Skills:  Strong programming skills in C, C++, Assembly, and Python
Experience in one or more areas of fixed and mobile communications exploitation, security, and implementation
Experience in reverse engineering tools and techniques (ie: OllyDbg, IDA Pro)
Experience with cyber/computer network operations.
B.S. degree in technical disciplines such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Security, or Information Technology;
Experience with problem solving and debugging
Experience with system performance analysis and testing
Strong teamwork skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Emphasis on research-level software and prototype development
Perform well under aggressive program technical challenges and goals
Applicants must possess current Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain a TS/SCI Security Clearance which requires U.S. citizenship. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
