Senior Systems Engineer

Description:Senior Engineers perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
This position is for the 53K Heavy Lift program. Tasks include maintaining DOORS modules containing Avionics requirements flowed down from the Customer contract and updates to the derived Subsystem requirements. Working with Subsystem owners to develop updates to the requirements, assign to proper software builds, and agree on the proper verification method. Follow the new/modified requirements through the approval process, support subsystem specification updates. Coordinating work with the Aircraft Systems Integrated Product Team.
Mission Planning System (MPS) Integration Lead - The lead supports the ongoing integration of the Avionics Management System with the Customer provided MPS. The lead tracks existing issues, documents new issues, tests software fixes in the integration lab, and coordinates with the Customer and their software supplier. Support of formal testing is also part of this role.
Knowledge of Avionics systems in at least one of these areas: Communications, Navigation, Defense systems, Data Displays and Controls, Flight Management.
Experience with requirements development and management.
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered career, or journey, level.
Knowledge of DOORS requirements management. Experience directly working with a Government Customer.
Lab integration and test experience.
