Senior Satellite Flight Software Engineer
Description: The Enterprise Flight Software (EFSW) Product Line team is looking for a professional software engineer to assist in the full life-cycle development of our spacecraft flight software solutions. We are an Agile team employing the Scrum framework to spec, design, code, and test embedded flight software for a variety of space flight vehicles and missions.
We are a highly collaborative team that prefers short development iterations and embraces a "fail-fast" mentality (fail fast, fail often, react quickly and learn from every failure). Individual initiative and an ability to handle adversity are expected characteristics of all team members. As an experienced/staff member of the team, you will be expected to champion solutions to complex problems and to take a leading role in maturing solutions from concept to implementation.
This position is responsible for applying advanced technical expertise with C/C++ software development for embedded systems, contributing to the development of new principles and concepts, resolving complex technical software problems, and providing solutions which are innovative and ingenious. The majority of our software is written for embedded Real-time Operating Systems (RTOS), so an understanding of RTOS concepts, and familiarity with VxWorks in particular, is highly desired. A sound understanding of object oriented design principles and an ability to effectively employ them is a must.
The work location for this position is at the Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company headquarters located in Littleton, CO (a suburb of Denver, CO).
