Senior Multimedia Design Engineer / Grand Prairie, TX

Description: Lockheed Martin is seeking a Technical Writer/Multimedia Design Engineer for a position in Grand Prairie, TX supporting a team of Technical Writers that provide a wide array of technical documentation written to Military Specifications. Candidate will be a member of a team of Technical Writers that provide a wide array of technical documentation written to Military Specifications. Primary responsibilities include developing change packages for US Air Force Technical Orders (TOs) and US Army Technical Manuals (TMs), write and edit repair procedures for all levels of maintenance. Duties include:
-Utilize excellent written and oral communication skills while working in a team environment.
-Necessary to be flexible with outstanding work ethic and possess the ability to respond quickly to company and client needs.
-Interface with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to verify and understand technical concepts and develop courses of action to ensure project completion is on time and within budget.
-Utilize layout, design and structure of Organizational, Intermediate and Depot Level Technical Manuals (TM's)' including Operation and Maintenance, Theory of Operation, Fault Isolation Procedures, and Illustrated Parts Breakdowns (IPB's).
-Read and interpret engineering drawings and software description documents.
-Some travel may be required.

The Locale: Grand Prairie is part of the "Mid-Cities" region in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex which is in the North Central region of Texas. Grand Prairie is a suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth. Desired Skills: -Working knowledge of DoD specifications i.e. S1000D
-Experience with tracking status for multiple projects
-Experience with the development of Basis of Estimates (BOEs) within the discipline of Technical Publications
-Previous military experience or working in DoD industry
-Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
-Ability to obtain a Government Security Clearance
-Have a working knowledge of MIL-STD style guides MIL-STD-40051, MIL-STD-38784, or equivalent
-Proficient with Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
-Experience in HTML/SGML/XML editing software and Arbortext Editor or equivalent XML editing tool
-Ability to write using clear and concise language that adheres to customer-established standards and conventions
-Ability to write technical content for maintenance technical manuals including installation, test, repair, and troubleshooting procedures
-Ability to acquire and verify subject matter content by interviewing workers engaged in developing products, observing production methods, referring to Engineering drawings, notes, manuals and similar publications
-Candidate must be familiar with layout, design and structure of Organizational, Intermediate and Depot Level Technical Manuals (TM's)' including Operation and Maintenance, Theory of Operation, Fault Isolation Procedures, and Illustrated Parts Breakdowns (IPB's).
-Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and software description documents
-Candidate must be willing to work overtime as required
