Senior Mechanical / Structural Dynamics Engineer / Grand Prairie, TX
Description: Lockheed Martin is seeking a Lead Mechanical / Structural Dynamics Engineer to join our creative team of engineers in Dallas Texas.
-The candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in some of Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control's highly innovative and ingenious solutions to complex technical problems facing the aerospace industry.
-This exciting work will include performing research, design, analysis, evaluation, and testing in support of various program areas.
-This specific position is related to Mechanical / Structural Dynamics for development and production of new aerospace products and technologies.
-The candidate will be responsible for performing Structural Dynamics analysis and testing of top level assemblies, subsystems, and components on one or more programs.
-Tasks include performing preliminary and detailed structural analysis on component and assemblies using standardized processes and tools, as well as supporting testing that accompanies the program and analysis efforts
-Mechanical Engineering tasks assigned will include the dynamics analysis efforts supporting the development of missile configurations, generation of finite element models (FEM) and performing structural dynamic analyses, generation of classical structural dynamics analysis, and evaluation of design for issues or possible alternate design approaches.
-Tasks involving the missile canister are also likely.
-Additional experience performing tasks such as missile tip-off analysis, modal analysis, flexible flight loads, and test plan development/test support.
-Tasks also include performing preliminary and detailed structural and dynamic analysis on component and assemblies using standardized processes and tools.
-Tasks may also include providing support for structural or dynamic testing of systems, subsystems, and components.
-Candidate will perform structural and dynamic analysis using standardized analysis software tools and coordinate requirements and design solutions with program personnel.
-Experienced with relevant analytic tools for structural and dynamics analysis.
-The candidate will provide technical documentation and input to data packages to support peer and customer reviews, present analysis data to program and customer personnel at technical interchange meetings, and design reviews.
-The candidate will also interfacing and coordinating efforts with Structural Stress Engineers, Mechanical Designers, Thermal Engineers, Material & Process Engineers, Environments Engineers, Laboratory Test Engineers, Production Operations, Subcontractor Management and other departments.

-Grand Prairie is part of the "Mid-Cities" region in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex which is in the North Central region of Texas. Grand Prairie is a suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth.
-The region offers a great cost of living combined with a robust economy and a pleasant climate.
-The Mid-Cities is the suburban region filling the thirty-mile span between Dallas and Fort Worth.
-These communities include the cities of Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, HEB (Hurst, Euless and Bedford), NRH (North Richland Hills and Richland Hills), Haltom City, Watauga, and Keller, along with multiple other smaller towns such as Trophy Club and Roanoke and together represent more people than either Dallas or Fort Worth.
Desired Skills: -Active Department of Defense Secret Clearance.
-MS or Ph.D. degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
-Strength in structural analysis with a desire to learn more and demonstrated strong problem solving and analytical skills.
-Experience performing Flutter Analysis, and supporting Flutter flight testing.
-Exposure or Experience desirable with rigid body dynamics tools (ADAMS).
-Experience performing structural and dynamics analysis using classical methods.
-Experience with CAD modeling (example = PTC Pro-Engineer CREO).
-Experience with FORTRAN programming.
-Creativity/innovation to solve issues related to structural and dynamic performance of any aspect of structure.
-Experience with MATLAB and MathCAD.
-Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance.
-Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or other related field.
-Candidate must have at least 6 years of professional experience (aerospace industry preferred).
-Experience with structural dynamic analysis of assembly systems, subsystems, and components.
-Experience with core structural software (Nastran and / or Abaqus).
-Experience with core or second tier pre and post processing tools (Ansa, Meta, Hypermesh, Patran, FEMAP, etc.).
-Experience generating structural and component specifications, system/subsystem/component test plans, structural analysis reports and documentation.
-Experience with structural dynamic testing of structural assemblies, sub-assemblies and components.
-Experience performing analysis of hardware made from a multitude of structural materials used in the aerospace industry.
-Capable of performing in a fast paced, dynamic environment and working in an inclusive, team environment.
-Proven leadership with demonstrated interpersonal skills.
-Experience with Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
-Considered experienced, but still a learner.
-Candidate must have strong analytical and organizational skills.
-Candidate must have the ability to travel.
