Senior Facilities Engineer

Description: This position provides engineering support to the Industrial Waste Treatment/Sanitary Sewage plants/Reverse Osmosis, Boiler House Operations, and the Waste Treatment Laboratory.

Provides an Integrated Plant Engineering (PE) Solution by investigating requirements, writing Scope of Work (SOW), producing cost estimates and specifications for both shop and contract work on plant systems.

Performs rehab and new work on plant systems including infrastructure as well as production equipment.

Validates/revises Preventive Maintenance instructions to include Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) philosophy, identifies requirements for technical training and spare parts lists.

Helps plan/guide maintenance operations for a large industrial complex.

A PE Technical Point of Contact for Contact for design reviews, construction support, system commissioning as well as capital inputs and planning assessments.

Provides liaison and assistance between Shop Supervisors, crafts, Facilities Engineering and Business Controls.

Requires the ability to perform field engineering throughout the entire plant including climbing ladders, work at heights, etc. Some travel may be required.

Ability to climb ladders. Ability to work anywhere at the facility.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Desired Skills: Experience working with production equipment.

Ability to obtain a Class 2 Waste Water license.

Knowledge of SM/EPA test methodologies (Wet Chemistry) associated with EPD analysis.

In addition to this, the person should have a working knowledge and the importance of a QA/QC program associated with the laboratory analysis.

General understanding of the chemistry associated with heat exchange systems (Corrosion and Scaling).

General understanding of mechanical engineering associated with the infrastructure that makes up a heat exchange system.

Knowledge of the effects of Reverse Osmosis water versus typical potable make up water within plant systems, and control parameters needed for operation.

Knowledge of mechanical, chemical and operations associated with Ultra Filtration and Reverse Osmosis processes.

Knowledge and experience in the following areas of Waste Treatment systems:
o Chemistry associated with waste treatment
o Biology associated with waste treatment
o Subparts or divisions of waste treatment systems and
how they contribute to the overall waste treatment
process
o Process control parameters needed to effectively
operate the plant

General understanding of mechanical engineering associated with the infrastructure that makes up the waste treatment system.

General understanding of steam production operations.

General understanding of compressed air systems.

Applied knowledge of RCM management and experience in a large industrial complex.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working in a Water/Waste Water treatment plant/environment.

Experience working with items to include any of the following: underground sewerage/water system, air compressors, boilers or cooling towers.

Experience working with corrosion and scaling associated with heat exchange systems.

Experience performing tasks in industrial settings that may require climbing ladders, working at heights or confined spaces.

Experience evaluating, troubleshooting and diagnosing challenges associated with Plant infrastructure/equipment.
