Working with experienced engineers, prepare and review technical documents, developing and conducting employee safety and health training, employee concerns resolution, record keeping, precautions and procedures to specific job functions. Responsible for the recognition, evaluation and control of chemical and physical hazards arising in or from the workplace or facility that may cause injury, illness or discomfort to employees or citizens of the community. Complete comprehensive environment, safety and health risk assessments with specific conclusions and recommendations to management. Prepare procedures which promote the healthful conduct of all work practices and the prevention of hazardous or nuisance exposure potential. Ability to obtain Secret Clearance required for this role. Interim Secret clearance required at start.
Actively enrolled in Safety Science, Industrial Safety, Industrial or Facilities Engineering or other related degree program from an accredited college/university. This position requires special access to support the program and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen.
Awareness of the federal legislative/rule making process, the underlying occupational safety and health regulations, industry and construction consensus standards and practices. Proactive Safety posture. Awareness of providing Environmental Safety & Health (ESH) assistance and guidance in a manufacturing or military environment. Knowledge of explosive safety. Ability to multi-task, be organized, thorough and detail oriented, with emphasis on job closure. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Strong interpersonal skills and effective presentation skills. Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment.
