Project Engineer

Description: The Corporate Engineering, Technology & Operations (CETO) Mission Development and Integration (MDI) Technical Assistant (TA) will support the MDI Vice President, Director, Program Manager and staff providing project management and engineering support. Candidate will work closely with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Global Research and Development (GR&D), and Technology Strategy and Innovation (TSI) leadership teams to ensure execution of MDI's charter in support of the CTO's Technology Strategy and Corporate Enterprise Business Pursuits. Duties include a large variety of special assignments and projects ranging in scope and duration in accordance with frequent changes in executive priorities and requirements. Position applies multiple project management and operations analysis disciplines across multiple organizations, functions and geographic locations. Rotation length is 24-36 months.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Primary interface with CETO TA's coordinating, organizing, and providing status of organizational priorities, schedules, and action items
• Develop and maintain documents to ensure communication and situational awareness of major events and activities
• Support MDI Program Manager and Portfolio Managers (as required) with overall execution of project management tasks (maintaining integrated master schedule, financial support)
• Scheduling, organize and manage bi-monthly MDI program management reviews (PMR) with the director and leadership staff
• Facilitate meetings, record meeting minutes and following up on action items
• Providing administration of weekly Action Items status for the MDI Director and staff
• Providing the MDI Director with relevant and timely status updates on MDI's program portfolio
• Proactively anticipate MDI leadership and staff needs and identify areas for collaboration
• Developing presentations in support of engagements with internal and external stakeholders
• Participating as a member of the MDI staff in strategic planning, business operations, program management and problem resolution discussions
• Supporting the research, design and development of content for MDI's strategic initiatives and the CTO's Foundational Technology Threads (FTT)

• Experience supporting the Department of Defense and an understanding of operational missions
• Knowledge of DoD mission operations, service models, functional processes, policies, procedures and strategies
• Demonstrated successful experience leading, detailed planning and preparation, and coordinating
• Knowledge/experience with Project Management fundamentals and Earned Value Management
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
• Familiarity with DOD experimentation process, modeling and simulation, and Operations Analysis
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Project management experience (cost, schedule, risk)
• Financial acumen (cost account management, Intra-Work Transfer Agreements)

• Demonstrated effective presentation skills, multiple project prioritization and to work in self-directed manner, work independently, and leverage best practices
• Proven proficiency using Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Proven proficiency using online meeting conferencing tools, workgroup collaboration tools (Microsoft Skype and SharePoint, etc.)
