Program Manager- Santa Barbara Focalplane Site- Goleta, CA

Description: Lockheed Martin, Santa Barbara Focalplane located in Goleta, CA in the beautiful Santa Barbara area is currently seeking a Program Manager to manage the cost, schedule, and technical performance of FPA (Focal Plane Array) and IDCA (Integrated Dewar Cooler Assembly) development programs for a variety of customers and/or markets.

The Program manager will be responsible for cost, schedule, and technical execution to ensure program success. The role will manage a diverse team across multiple disciplines including engineering, manufacturing, finance, and supply chain. The position requires regular interface with upper management and all functional areas. The position also requires understanding of business development/capture processes and procedures and presentation preparation and actual presentations to current and future customers. Additional tasks include specific program focused daily operations and projects or initiatives that achieve customer and Lockheed Martin strategic objectives.
Desired Skills: Experience with the development and manufacturing of IR sensors and associated technologies for military, scientific and, commercial applications.

Program management experience managing complex technology development programs.

Experience in managing programs with subcontracts key to program performance

Communicate across multiple disciplines to provide leadership and vision for the program

Motivational, mentorship, and negotiation skills necessary to achieve program performance.

Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Program / Project Management experience in the aerospace / defense industry.

Experience in project management with ability to effectively lead a team to accomplish critical strategic objectives.

Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of personnel and internal and external customers.

Experience in new business development, proposal management, design to cost and price to win, and supporting capture management.

Innovative problem solver that can resolve issues

Knowledge on project and program management methodology and techniques.

Understanding of program execution and how program performance effects business operations.

Ability to accomplish business / program goals without day to day direction / tasking.

Knowledge on budgeting, earned value management, and resource allocation.

Working knowledge of program cost/scheduling tools (Microsoft Project, SAP, etc.).
