Network Engineer

Description: As a team member in the Lockheed Martin (LM) Enterprise Business Service (EBS) Data, Voice, and Video (DV2) organization, this position successfully applies technology to meet service commitments for our primary clients; Lockheed Martin Business Areas within the South Region and the Enterprise Organization (EO). Specifically, the candidate will support the daily operations and continued growth activities of the Aeronautics classified network environment along with unclassified network environments that fall within the DV2 South Region. This position administers and maintains a complex suite of network hardware and software. This position is responsible for supporting Tier 1 through Tier 3 network issues, maintaining lean operating processes & procedures, supporting infrastructure changes, large infrastructure projects, and providing overall service consistent with customer care objectives. The position requires successful use of senior level experience in network engineering, network operations, network performance tools/analysis, project management, and systems integration. This network professional will ensure that Lockheed Martin networks are managed, controlled, and updated in a manner consistent with both Lockheed Martin policies and procedures. Most work is to be performed on-site, including some off-shift hours, weekends, and with minimal travel.

•Experience implementing STIGs and JSIG/RMF controls
•Experience with Windows Server 2012/2016
•Knowledge of DoD security standards, policies, and procedures
•Experience working with General Dynamics TACLANE Type 1 encryptors
•Experience supporting and configuring firewalls
•Experience supporting and configuring WAN optimization appliances such as Silver Peak and/or Riverbed
•Experience supporting and configuring Wireless LAN controllers and Wireless Access Points (APs)
•Demonstrated experience working with network performance tools
•Experience with the development and the updating of Standard Operating Instructions (SOIs) and Disaster Recovery (DR) Plans
•Experience with Service Central or Remedy ITSM workflow support tools
•Proven excellent written and verbal communications skills
•Active DoD Top Secret security clearance with an investigation within the last 5 years
•Ability to obtain and maintain the CompTIA Security + certification
•Minimum of 9 years of experience supporting complex network infrastructures
•High level of proficiency supporting and configuring network switches and routers
•High level proficiency operating in the Cisco Systems CLI and IOS areas
•Working knowledge of standard network services (DNS, DHCP, IP Address Mgmt., NTP, SNMP)
•High level proficiency with TCP/IP, peer-to-peer networking, and IP addressing & subnets
•Candidate must be able to troubleshoot network connectivity and/or peer to peer application issues at all levels of the TCP/IP stack via packet capture analysis
•Strong documentation and technical writing skills to maintain and update system configurations, network security documents, and network diagrams
•Ability to multi-task and manage priorities
•Demonstrated self-starter willing to work flexible hours and support an on call rotation
