NDT Level II

Description: The NDT Inspector is responsible for performing NDT inspections of Aircraft composite and alloy components undergoing repair, overhaul, new build or modifications in accordance with approved technical data.
- Performs NDT inspections on Rotor Blade components in an FAA repair station environment utilizing two or more of the following inspection methods: Radiography, Ultrasonic, Fluorescent Penetrant, and Eddy Current
- Completes required inspection documents
- Complies with all business policies, procedures and contractual requirements
Inspections include, but not limited to, visual inspection, liquid penetrant, and radiographic inspection:
o Visual inspection will generally consist of the visual inspection of base material with or without the aid of optical enhancement devices in evaluating the surfaces presented using appropriate lighting to assure contractual and specification compliance.
o Liquid penetrant inspection will entail the application of penetrants and developers to the item to be inspected. This inspection will include the evaluation of the results of using the proper lighting in removing of penetrant materials and cleaning of surfaces upon
completion of the liquid penetrant test.
o Radiographic inspection will consist of exposing the item under test in accordance with specific setup instructions. The radiographic images will be processed and interpreted for compliance to applicable codes, standards, specifications and drawing requirements.

This list of responsibilities is not exhaustive and the employee may be required to perform duties outside of this as directed by supervisor.

Candidate must successfully complete FAA drug screening test and have no violations of FAA agency regulations documented in the records of drug and alcohol testing carried out by previous employers during the
previous two years. This position is a safety sensitive position covered under FAA, subject to ongoing random drug and alcohol screening program. This includes being tested for Marijuana, Cocaine, PCP, Opiates
& Amphetamines or a metabolite of these drugs.
Desired Skills: o NDT Level II certifications in other methodologies (PT and/or ET) per NAS 410 preferred.
o Experience in Digital Radiography is desired.
o Knowledge of aerospace structure to include composite and bonded assemblies is desired.
o Experience in an overhaul shop or repair station environment is desired
o Be proficient in understanding and interpreting approved technical data including Component Maintenance Manuals, Aircraft Maintenance
Manuals, Blueprints, SB/ASB, & AD etc.
o Have analytical and problem solving skills.
o Be detailed oriented and able to multi-task high volumes of work in a fast paced environment without sacrificing quality.
o Have knowledge of the FAA and EASA Regulations
o Ability to follow written and oral instructions
o Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
o Ability to work in a team environment.
o Knowledge and experience with lean and continuous improvement philosophies and methodologies preferred.
o Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel).
o Be able to work any shift
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
o High School diploma or GED equivalent
o Current Level II NDT certification per NAS 410 in RT (Radiography) and UT (ultrasonic).
o Documented evidence of training and experience hours that meet NAS 410 for NDT level II in RT and UT.
o Must pass both general NDT exams:
o 80% or higher in Radiographic General NDT Exam, the test will be conducted on site during interview process.
o 70% or higher in Ultrasonic General NDT Exam, the test will be conducted on site during interview process.
o Must be able to read basic blueprints
o Must be able to obtain NDT II Certifications in RT and UT in accordance with the Sikorsky procedure QAP-804 within 90 days of employment.
o Must be able to obtain Flight Safety Inspector certification within 90 days of employment including successful completion of training and vision test.
o Must be able to maintain all qualifications and certifications in NDT II and Flight Safety Inspection certification and applicable Categories.
o Must be able to lift 25lbs on a regular basis using proper lifting techniques
o Must be able to bend, stoop, stand and/or sit for extended periods
