Missile Assembly & Test Manufacturing Engineer Associate - Troy, AL
Description:This position provides engineering support of Production Operations at Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control in Troy, Alabama. The job duties include the design, development and implementation of manufacturing processes, detailed work instructions, special tooling/equipment and hands-on production floor support required to assemble and test military missile systems. The role requires the ability to interpret engineering requirements from product data models, drawings, parts lists and specifications; conduct detailed failure analysis, develop root cause and implement the corrective/preventative actions in a continuous improvement environment; demonstrate effective interpersonal & communication skills including technical writing and visual presentations. The candidate must have a high level of mechanical hands-on abilities.

The Locale: Troy, Alabama is located in the East Gulf Coastal Plains region of southeastern Alabama. Troy's climate is typical of areas along the Gulf of Mexico in that it has hot, humid summers and mild winters. Troy is a great place to live offering lots of things to do and has a small town charm. Troy is also a college town and is home to Troy University. Where can you get to from Troy? Troy is just under an hour south of Montgomery, Alabama. Troy is about 2.5 hours north of the Gulf of Mexico and Fort Walton Beach and Florida's Pan Handle. Troy is about three hours from Atlanta, GA.
-Bachelors or Masters degree from an accredited college in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
-Excellent verbal/written communications, interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
-Proficient with MS Office suite.
- Must be able to work all schedules/shifts (day shift, night shift and a weekend schedule).
-U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a secret clearance. Candidate must have at least an interim secret clearance prior to start.
-Manufacturing background with automation and shop floor experience.
-Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, schematics, specifications and wiring diagrams.
-Excellent hands-on mechanical assembly/disassembly skills.
-Familiarity with CATIA 5, CREO, Pro/E or equivalent CAD software in a drafting & design environment.
-Familiarity with Allen-Bradley (Rockwell Automation) programmable logic controllers (PLC), FANUC robotics and computer numerical control (CNC) programming from computer aided design (CAD) models is a plus.
