The Mechanical Systems Design group is seeking an engineer with experience in the design of mechanisms and mechanical, electromechanical and hydraulic systems and the definition of system requirements. The Mechanical Systems group oversees a wide range of products on all platforms including landing gear retraction, doors and latches, internal and external cargo handling, energy attenuating crew and passenger seating, aircrew restraint, weapons mounts and others.

The job duties include and are not limited to:

- Innovative definition, development and integration of component and subsystem designs into an elegant system level design solution

- Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers performing design of aircraft mechanical systems to develop and grow a workforce specializing in mechanical system design and integration.

- Supporting digital transformation initiatives focused on using digital data and integrated analysis tools to shorten development cycles

- Developing standard work practices. Establishing and coordinating processes, plans and procedures necessary to provide timely, accurate and focused engineering support.

- Providing technical guidance of mechanical systems products throughout the entire lifecycle including, conceptual design, detail design, qualification, and customer support

- Perform analyses, modeling, simulations, and reviews, and support hardware integration and test activities associated with aircraft mechanical systems

Occasional travel may be required to support design, manufacture or testing of systems in development or to provide customer support of fielded products.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
Desired Skills:
10 years of experience in the detail design of mechanisms
BS in Mechanical Engineering or similar
CATIA V5/V6
3DX
Technical drawing/drafting skills
MS Office Applications
