HVAC Technician

Description: Responsible for the daily and long term maintenance / functionality of Owego's Facilities Equipment. This role will primarily be responsible for exhaust fan maintenance and OHSA requirements for velocity readings. Job responsibilities will be driven through equipment ownership with the use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System. Technician will typically provide the mechanical, electrical, and control support necessary to keep Facilities equipment functional to sustain optimal performance levels of assigned equipment. Technician must have an understanding of Preventive Maintenance, as well as establishing condition based monitoring methods to drive a more predictive maintenance environment.
Work as a member of a high performance, customer-oriented, proactive team.
This is a physical job that requires the individual to use ladders and to be able to lift stand and walk etc. for extended periods of time.
Utilize proper personal protective equipment in the performance of duties.

Symax PLC Knowledge
Work experiences with manufacturing and machining equipment
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidate will need three years plus with a desirable level of electrical and mechanical equipment skills in a Facilities maintenance environment. Candidate will show a history of using Total Productive Maintenance to drive root cause analysis in a predictive environment. Flexibility to work multiple shifts schedules, overtime and Holidays as Site operations and equipment needs dictate. Candidate will need to have or show advanced ability to obtain proper refrigeration requirements necessary for the job.
Experience in monitoring and controlling energy management systems.
Experience with the operation of a VAV system.
Experience with humidification and dehumidification systems.
Experience with House, Fan Coil and DX, HVAC units.
Sustain general good housekeeping practices,
Ability to read and work from electrical and mechanical drawings.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to work at heights using scissor lifts, man lifts, boom lifts and ladders.
Hold a current EPA 608 Universal Certification.
