High Energy Laser Systems Engineer

Description:  Sunnyvale, California :
This engineer will apply broad-based optical and systems engineering expertise to develop high energy laser weapon systems, with a focus on beam control efforts. Efforts will span the complete product life cycle from pre-award through delivery. This position requires attention to detail and the ability to deliver quality engineering documentation in a timely and efficient manner.
The incumbent will coordinate and integrate the work of subject matter experts in optics, beam control, software, mechanical, power, thermal, electrical, production, and specialty engineering to drive action items to closure and ensure proper execution of programs, pursuits, and internal R&D activities. The incumbent will evaluate risks and develop mitigation strategies for ongoing efforts in close concert with subject matter experts, program leadership, and risk "owners".
The incumbent will develop interface control documents, technical performance measures, performance budgets, size weight power and cost estimates, and planning documents that are used to integrate system solutions.
