Hardware Engineer

Description:The Hardware Engineer will provide day to day monitoring and maintenance of multiple infrastructures.
Specific Requirements:
Must be CCNA certified
Provide day-to-day monitoring of multiple infrastructures
Analyze logs and event reports generated by the Host Intrusion Detection Systems (HIDS), Network Intrusion Detection Systems ( NIDS), and other security or network systems for security and performance considerations utilizing instruction detection systems software such as Sourcefire, SNORT, and OSSEC
Refine, tune, and support the HIDS and NIDS systems to provide optimal performance.
Identify, develop, deploy, and maintain new and improved security tools, configurations, and practices for the network routers, switches, gateways, firewalls, and internet nodes
Develop and design network solutions for a Cisco infrastructure
Identify, develop, test, deploy, and maintain network solutions for network problems and new requirements
Develop automation tools to improve configuration management and change procedures using various solutions such as writing scripts
Identify, develop, test, deploy, and maintain configuration for internet nodes using primarily LINUX and WINDOWS Operating systems
Develop training materials, test networks, and deliver training session both at local and remote locations
Develop and use test and evaluation platforms for testing and evaluating network and security configurations, procedures for incident response, network management tools, and patch management.
Provide consulting services regarding general security practices, security monitoring, and network design and development and resolve security issues
Provide installation, configuration, and tuning of select equipment at remote sites to enhance their security posture
Provide call-in support
Travel within a 300-mile radius of the local site
Basic Qualifications:
Twenty (20) years' experience as a HE analyzing complex hardware systems for SIGINT solutions.
Bachelor's degree in Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related discipline from an accredited college or university. Five (5) years of additional hardware engineering experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.
