Field Engineer / Letterkenny, PA
Description:Performs depot level repairs, modifications, refurbishments of specific components of the Modernized Target Designation Sight/Pilotage Night Vision System (M-TADS/PNVS)
Performs test, troubleshooting, and acceptance testing of deliverable electronic assemblies utilizing computer operated Common Core Automated Test equipment (LM-STAR/CCATS)
Troubleshoots, calibrates and maintains computer operated Common Core Automated Test equipment (LM-STAR/CCATS) and integrated test adapters
Operates automated or general purpose test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, network analyzers and waveform generators) and uses knowledge of basic AC/DC theory to read, interpret engineering drawings and schematics to conduct fault isolation of faulty components.
Completes work IAW engineering drawings, schematics, Repair Component Procedures (RCPs), Field Advisory Bulletins(FABs), and Contactor Installation Procedures (CIPs)
Documents work in automated maintenance data collection systems IAW Apache Fire Control processes and procedures
Performs test and checkout of mechanical, electrical, structural, hydraulic subsystems and complete systems.
Interface with multiple functional groups including: engineering (electrical, software & test), production operations, engineering change board and quality personnel to achieve successful depot operation activities
Performs limited supply duties (load/unload trucks), operates overhead hoists.
Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance.
Strong knowledge and/or education in repairs of electronic assemblies.
Knowledge of basic avionics and electronics.
Knowledge of AC-DC theory.
Knowledge of trouble-shooting faulty components using general purpose and/or automated test equipment.
Knowledge of the operation of general purpose and/or automated test equipment.
Knowledge of the interpretation of engineering drawings, schematics, and test and repair procedures.
Ability to lift 35 pounds.
Ability to adapt to dynamic and frequently changing customer requirements.
Ability to understand policies and procedures for the control of Government property.
Ability to work with hazardous materials.
Ability to mix and weigh chemicals.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of automated and/or general purpose test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, network analyzers and waveform generators) used in a depot.
Automated Test equipment exposure. Electro Optical Testing Background including integration, analysis, validation and verification.
Familiar test software including; National Instruments LabVIEW, TESTSTAND, Windows and LINUX operating systems, C and C++.
National Instruments Training and Certification.
Knowledge of dynamic digital IO and FPGA based testing techniques.
Knowledge of solder certification to J-STD-001, IPC-7711/IPC-7721.
Knowledge of fault isolation for electronic components.
Knowledge of concepts for hardware repair.
