Description:Maintain, adjust, isolate, remove, and replace faulty hardware on simulators and task trainers that support the Hercules Training Center. Maintain host computers, image generators, visual displays, input/output (I/O), electric control loading systems, electric motion systems, computer networks, and associated electronics, etc. Report and document all hardware system actions related to equipment malfunctions, modifications, removal, installation, fault isolation, and repair. Perform operational checkouts and preventive maintenance utilizing work instructions and technical manuals. Complete maintenance data collection records on equipment associated with trainer and support equipment. Maintain simulation devices to meet program specifications. Apply technical knowledge to solve problems by interpreting design drawings, manuals or simulator documents. Provide technical skills to assist engineers as required to meet HTC program goals. Comply with all site safety and security policies and procedures. Complete all assigned tasks with quality and pride in ownership in mind. Performs other duties as required. Shift work is required based on operational needs and support requirements.
-Able to calibrate, install, maintain, repair, and test flight simulator(s) and associated support equipment
-Install changes and updates to simulator(s) and support equipment as required
-Have had formal electronics education from a college or technical school
-Technical writing skills
-Able to explain system operation
-Provide hands on training to junior team members
-The ability to work unsupervised and deliver results
-Have experience troubleshooting simulator I/O systems
-Have experience with troubleshooting and the alignments procedures on digital projection systems
-Experience on the C-130J aircraft or simulator
-Able to write, review and update technical process instructions related to the maintenance section
-Working knowledge of automated maintenance documentation systems
-Skilled in interpreting schematics and electrical wire diagrams
-Solid understanding of electronic theory
-Proficiency and knowledge with hand tools
-Knowledgeable and proficient with test equipment, i.e. oscilloscopes, DVM, and signal measuring devices
- Experience with FAA simulator qualifications requirements for "Level D" simulators in regards to standards for performance and documentation of all maintenance activities.
-Proficient in use of personal computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
-Demonstrated ability to communicate (written and/or verbal) effectively with team members
-Experience working with vendor technical manuals
-Support sub-contractors with technical knowledge of system operation and design during modification and testing
