F-35 Crew Chief
Description: Performs required Airframe and Powerplant General/Technical Aircraft Maintenance (TAMS) (Crew Chief) tasks in support of maintenance technicians in support of tasks identified by the USAF and in technical data issued for the F-35 aircraft. Maintenance tasks include conditioning aircraft for modifications, removal and installation of attaching hardware, component removal and installations, assistance with software uploads, and various system operational checkouts. Technical requirements also include fault isolation, troubleshooting, and repair of system failures detected during operational checks associated with modifications and restoration of aircraft to flying condition subsequent to accomplishment of modifications and maintenance. Interprets and uses various test equipment and works from wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, job guides, and maintenance manuals. Must be willing to train and assist in multiple disciplines. Responsible for the performance of company programs/projects in support of customer requirements. Participates in the maintenance and logistics scheduling and execution. Develops solutions to complex problems concerning support to assigned site.This requisition supports the aircraft modification and heavy maintenance program supporting F-35 program requirements. The modification team will be based at Hill AFB, UT with potential travel requirements at other F-35 locations.
Selected candidate will have exeperience with understanding technicial requirements on fighter type aircraft. Candidate must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, structure repair manuals, understanding symbols, flags, and general notes - Identify aircraft locations by station, butt-line, and waterline as shown on engineering documentation and technical orders.
Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive movements, work overhead, to grasp, handle, and/or feel, reach. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist.
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Must have an Interim Secret Clearance prior to starting.
Desired Skills: Fighter aircraft Sheet Metal/ structures experience
Working level of knowledge on Maintenance Information Systems such as Electronic Maintenance Instructions, Aircraft Forms Documentation, and Supply Chain Management.
Knowledgeable of Tool Control, FOD, Supply, HAZMAT, Training, Quality, and Security programs.
Fifth generation aircraft crew chief experience
Low Observable Coatings application
Fighter aircraft crew chief/Aircraft Plane General/Tactical Aircraft Maintenance Specialist experience
Must have been previously awarded a 5 or 7 Skill level USAF AFSC, Navy NEC, or Marine MOS discipline rating or an equivalent Airframe and Power Plant, FAA certificate.
