Environmental Health and Safety Manager / Camden, AR
Description: Coordination and consistent deployment of strategy, customer service and compliance are requirements for this position. Direct responsibilities encompass Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Defense (DoD and DCMA), Department of Transportation (DOT), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) regulatory compliance, energy management and multifunctional program support with medical and worker compensation groups. This is a staff level position with specific responsibilities to coordinate the ESH management function within Camden Operations which includes direct supervision of full time ESH professionals and technical staff, assuring that all ESH requirements (regulatory, corporate, business area and company) are satisfied. Specific responsibilities include coordinating the ESH management function and assuring compliance at all levels of the organization. Other duties include development of performance metrics, implementation of ESH management systems, associated written programs and auditing.
The ESH Manager is responsible for working across the site to ensure compliance and conformance and all associated operational risks are addressed at the leadership level of Camden Operations and setting strategies in place to enhance the programs to meet and exceed world class operations. The ESH Manager will work with other ESH leaders across the Business Area to ensure common practices and management systems along with sharing of best practices and lessons learned.
The ESH manager will work to develop and identify talent for the ESH organization and manage the team to meet organizational needs.

The Locale: Camden, AR is a city in southern Arkansas. Camden is located on the Ouachita River, at the end of the navigable river. Camden is about a two hour drive south from Little Rock, AR. Camden is part of the Timberlands region of Arkansas. Timber, Oil, Deer Hunting, Bass fishing... These are words commonly used when people talk about the Timberlands of Arkansas. It's a region with rich natural resources that was discovered by pioneers from the eastern United States in the early 1800s. The abundant natural resources of the Timberlands are still attracting people today. Visitors enjoy the legacy of those pioneers by visiting sites ranging from 1800s log cabins and restored Victorian homes to local museums and colorful murals that tell the history of this land. Communities within an hour or two from Camden include Texarkana, Hot Springs AR, and Shreveport, LA.
Desired Skills: Bachelors degree desired.
Background in compliance programs associated with Ordnance handling and assembly or other like operations.
Extensive leadership experience (managing or leading a professional staff/team for at least 5 years).
Professional certifications in the field of Environmental, Safety and Health, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Professional Engineer (PE).
Experience managing ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, and/or OSHA VPP programs.
Customer service oriented.
Experience in Lean/Six Sigma processes (Black or Green Belt is preferred).
Active DoD Secret Clearance.
Proven leadership skills.
Proven environmental, safety and health background in an industrial environment with strong business acumen and operations knowledge.
Proven project and project management skills.
Strong communication skills (both written and oral)
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Proven cost control and budgeting skills.
Proven performance in a dynamic work environment.
Broad ESH experience, progressive management roles, and general awareness and experience working a variety of ESH issues.
Ability to obtain a Secret DoD Clearance.
