Embedded Software Test Engineer
Description:The chosen candidate will interface with project leads, Electrical and System Engineers to develop embedded software for complex satellite and missile test equipment. The candidate will participate and contribute to technical design reviews and audits of software products to customers. This position requires interaction, planning and coordination with cross-functional development teams, internal and external customers across multiple satellite and missile programs. Infrequent domestic travel may be required to support formal test and delivery.
Bachelors in Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with Computer Science and/or Computer Engineering studies.
Experience in coding in the JAVA, C, C++, C#, LabVIEW, or Python programming languages.
Have a solid understanding of Electrical/Electronics Engineering circuit fundamentals & principals (analog/digital/mixed) and a passion for integrating hardware & software platforms.
Experience using off-the-shell test and measurement instruments (O-Scope, function generators, power supplies, etc.)
Experience developing embedded software and/or machine control software targeted to single-board computers and/or microprocessors/microcontrollers.
The ability to perform software engineering best practices to include: requirements analysis & documentation, design, code, unit test, peer reviews, integration. Utilization of version control tools such as SVN, Git or Mercurial.
Experience with common automated test and measurement suite of tools such as LabVIEW & TestStand (including FPGA and Real-Time modules).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
