Electrical Engineer Intern, Power Design

Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.

Responsible for working on the early design of Electrical Power Systems for Ground Based Radar Systems. The individual will work alongside with Senior Engineers and Subject Matter Experts (SME) and across various programs to determine power needs and to design power circuits and subsystems to meet such needs. The individual will conduct trade studies, perform dynamic analyses, interface with vendors, test power and analog circuitry and interact with engineers of other disciplines (Mechanical, Systems, etc.). The individual will support failure analysis, Material Review Board processing, discrepancy documentation, resolution and troubleshooting.
Basic Qualifications:
Knowledge of Analog Circuits, design and analysis.
Knowledge of Power Systems design including Linear and Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPS).
Experience with Lab Equipment - O-Scopes, DVMs, etc.
Knowledge of PCB design.
Ability to obtain and hold a DOD Security clearance.
Excellent interpersonal, presentation, written/verbal skills
Able to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
Demonstrated ability to act independently
Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills
Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
Desired Skills:
PSPICE and/or LTSPICE tool Experience.
Power System Simulation and Modeling Experience -PSIM
AC/DC and DC/DC Converter Design Experience
Familiar with EMC and Electrical Safety Standards.
