Electrical engineer with Ship Integration & Test in Virginia Beach supporting development, modification, and integration of Combat System cabling design documentation of AEGIS cruisers, destroyers, and FFG(X) class into shipboard technical data products:

- Assist in generation and/or maintenance of Combat System cable block diagrams, cable installation / interconnection drawings, cable running sheets, minimum data sets, and cable impact statements.

- Review Combat System vendor design documentation for completeness and compatibility with prescribed ship builder specification, standards and requirements.
- Support performance testing and qualification of electrical interface components.

Position will require travel for training (
Basic Qualifications:
BS in Electrical Engineering, System Engineering, or related field.

Experience with electrical and / or systems integration.

Basic knowledge of cables and connectors, including material types and the advantages of each.

Understanding of commercial technologies and specifications for digital, video, and communication systems.

Strong initiative characteristics, exceptional teaming skills, able to write detailed reports, and effectively prepare and give presentations.

Must be able to obtain & maintain a US DoD secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
Desired Skills:
Knowledge of USN AEGIS Combat System equipment.

Knowledge of various network types, current commercial trends in this field, as well as the cabling materials required to support.

Knowledge of both military and commercial electrical interface protocols, Combat System integration criteria, equipment interaction methods, major signal flows, as well as, USN and commercial shipbuilding specifications.

Experience interfacing with Naval organizations and basic knowledge of their functional structure.
