Corrosion & Finishes Material & Process Engineer

Description:Position is for a corrosion and finishes engineer on the Material and Process (M&P) team.

Responsibilities include providing finishes materials support to enable manufacturing (and/or research and development) of part fabrication. This requires application of knowledge of chemical processing, application of primers, topcoats, and other finishes to aircraft structure and components. The candidate will be expected to review engineering drawings, create and 1) interface with supplier vendor base technical issues concerning raw materials, part fabrication, new materials/processes; 2) develop and implement research/qualification plans including process development and evaluation of new materials for production use; 3) advise on proper selection of materials and processes to ensure attainment of design objectives; 4) participate in non-conformance disposition and Corrective Action processes; 5) participate in design reviews; 6) generate and deliver technical presentations; and/or 7) author/maintain/update technical specifications.

Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access and a Secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Corrosion Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited college.

Minimum 5 years' experience working with corrosion control/finishing materials relating to processing, fabrication and manufacturing methods, test, and inspection processes.

Professional experience implementing new processes, documenting processes, and training team members in a manufacturing environment.

Experience interacting with different engineering disciplines to determine requirements.

Experience preparing and deliver technical presentations.

Must be willing to work extended hours in support of program needs as needed.

Experience with process specifications and material characterization techniques.

Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access and a Secret clearance.
Desired Skills:
Demonstrates a broad knowledge of application of materials, finishes, and adhesives.

Understanding of environmental testing, anodization processes, and finish processes.

Experience with aerospace part manufacturing processes

Ability to work individually and/or collaboratively on multiple concurrent projects.

Experience overseeing material suppliers.

Project management skills.

Experience preparing and deliver technical presentations to senior management and external customers.

Excellent verbal and written communication/interpersonal skills.
