College Student Tech Spec

Description:Assist manufacturing engineers on floor support assignments in the Owego ABU electronics assembly area. Responsibilities would include shadowing Me/PE personnel in daily assembly support activities, participating in special manufacturing improvement initiatives such as Flow , 6S improvements and process improvements . Special project will be assigned and a presentation of this project to senior Owego engineering management team will be required at the end of the assignment. The purpose of this assignment is to expose the college intern to every day duties of a manufacturing engineering support engineer. We seek to provide them with a valuable engineering learning experience, excite them about the aspects of a career in the field and finally to assess the candidate's capabilities in filling permanent positional opportunities upon completion of their college degree.
Basic Qualifications:
Third year students with the basic Mechanical engineering courses completed. Computer skills in Microsoft Office suite, spreadsheets and some Project management / Status type programs. Ability to analyze data, prepare reports and provide written documentation summaries. Ability to work with different disciplines on the manufacturing floor. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
Desired Skills:
Application computer skills such as modeling, CAD /CAM or programming skills. Material science course background a plus. Some understanding of material properties and thermal mechanical property relationships.
