Cockpit Architecture and Design Engineer

Stratford, CT

Description:Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

• System Integration
• Generation of lab and aircraft test procedures
• Troubleshooting avionics issues on test, production and fielded aircraft
• Support and management of program level projects
Basic Qualifications:
Avionics integration, design, requirements development and decomposition experience required. Knowledge or cockpit architecture or flight experience highly desired. Experience with DO-178, DO-254 and/or DO-160 highly beneficial.
Desired Skills:
• Military, FAA and foreign certification
• DO-178B, DO-160 and DO-254 processes
• Model Based Design
• DOORS
• CATIA, Visio
• Technical project management
• Supplier technical management
• Piloting or other flight experience strongly desired
