Avionics Weapons Systems Engineer Staff

Description:This mid-career position will support government rotary wing aircraft contracts and programs. The specific opportunity exists within the Weapons and Defensive Systems team where strong systems engineering lifecycle experience is required in addition to working knowledge weapons, guns, launchers and turret and experience with operational analysis.
System engineering tasks will include: translation of customer requirements into hardware and software specifications, requirements definition and allocation, technical trade studies, equipment interface definitions, system design, technical documentation creation, review and presentation, equipment and software integration, lab testing, flight test support in addition to technical leadership.
This systems engineer will work in a team environment and must be able to effectively communicate and interface with others including Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Management, Suppliers and end Customers.
Basic Qualifications:
9+ years of avionics systems engineering experience in the weapons domain including guns, launchers and turrets
Strong working knowledge and experience with the following tools: MATLAB (preferably including autocode experience), DOORS
Ballistics modeling
Mission modeling and/or Operational Analysis experience
Conversant in software, in particular C and C++
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or related discipline from an accredited college or equivalent experience.
Secret Clearance required
Desired Skills:
Design and/or integration experience with EO/IRs
Other tools experience: Rhapsody, Cameo, AFSIM, ATCOM, PRODAS
Demonstrated successful team leadership
