Description:The Associate Member of the Engineering Staff will be responsible for analysis, design, integration, and test of the Aegis Display System (ADS). ADS is the display component of the Aegis Weapon System, which serves as the premier self-defense system for the U.S. and allied Navies. The Aegis Weapon System is a complete system, integrating state-of-the-art radar and missile systems. It is highly integrated and capable of simultaneous warfare on several fronts -- air, surface, subsurface, ballistic-missile-defense, and strike. ADS fuses a variety of sensor and weapon data into a tactical situation that sailors can use to take quick and effective action.
Daily tasking will include development of mission critical software & hardware requirements for ADS. The candidate will be responsible for development of requirements using SysML diagrams and constructs. The candidate will be responsible for completion of systems engineering related tasks to meet cost and schedule.
Ability to work in an Agile team environment is required for one or more of the following areas: analysis, requirements development, design, modeling, simulation, integration, test. Responsibilities include interfacing with the U.S. Navy or allied Navy customer(s) in performing test and evaluation activities and interfacing with internal software teams to isolate and fix issues as they arise for various functional areas.
Infrequent travel (
BSEE, BS Computer Engineering, or equivalent. Ability to perform data analysis and code inspections in Java, C++, or Python in order to troubleshoot element and system level issues. Candidate should be capable of working in a fast paced environment, supporting multiple projects. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Familiarity with the system engineering process, with a particular emphasis on top-down design: starting from high level system requirements through the allocation of system components. Experience in developing requirements, test procedures, and performing integration testing. Experience working in Linux or Unix environments. Experience with hardware virtualization and/or augmented/virtual/parallel reality is also desired.
