Associate Blade Design Engineer

Description:Candidate will be responsible for the design of rotorcraft dynamic components, specifically main and tail rotor blades, while ensuring all performance, technical, cost and schedule requirements are met or exceeded. The candidate is expected to have strong oral and written communication skills, and will be expected to prepare and deliver presentations to leadership.

Responsibilities include working with a wide range of external and internal customers, in all phases of the blade life cycle, including conceptual and detail design, engineering support during part fabrication, design of blade ground and flight test specimens, and test support. In addition, the selected candidate will be responsible for performing trade studies, creating new design configurations, participating in root cause investigations, creating engineering drawings including Bills of Material, and providing engineering support of fielded aircraft.

Other tasks include developing structural repairs, tooling concepts, validations, and related efforts. Domestic and international travel will be required to perform this work. Candidates should have strong "hands on" mechanical aptitude.
Basic Qualifications:
B.S. in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering, or other STEM field with relevant experience or coursework

Experience with CATIA V5 and/or 3DX, or equivalent CAD software

Candidate must be willing to travel, both domestically and internationally, for brief and extended periods
Desired Skills:
Intern/Co-op experience in part design and/or process design

General knowledge of GD&T

Experience with advanced surfacing/lofting, design of dynamic components and familiarity with composites

Working knowledge of structural composite repair and tooling
