Armor Production Tech II

Description: Armor Technician II will operate various items of machinery, be familiar with several processes and use various types of hand and power tools in the layout, fabricating assembly and detailing of the ballistic protection system that comprise our products in accordance with basic mechanical principals, company manufacturing theory and production drawings and documents.

This employee will also be required to do any and all tasks deemed necessary by his/her supervisor for the safe and efficient operation of the company. Such tasks may include those with more specialized training such as painting, molding, metal fabricating, wood fabricating, gluing, and computer driven machine operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Work off of blueprints or drawings of articles to be constructed or repaired
Work off of written instructions in the absence of drawings
Perform maintenance on assigned equipment as directed
Sets up and operate metal working machines such as desk mill, power saws, table saws, routers, grinder, drop saw and drills to fabricate production parts as required
Shape component parts to conform to drawings in order to ensure proper fit, form and function
Drill holes, by hand or on press, for inserts, pins and screws or other fasteners
Requisition parts and components from inventory
Initiate a turn back, yellow tag, red tag, or MRB as required
Fastens parts and subassemblies together either mechanically or chemically to form complete unit
Be able to perform all assigned tasks in 2 or more production cells with no direct supervision
Other duties may be assigned
